How Long Do Dungeness Crabs Live For?

Dungeness crabs can live for up to 10 years, although their lifespan can vary depending on a number of factors, including habitat, food availability, and predation. Females tend to live longer than males, with some individuals surviving for up to 13 years in the wild. In captivity, Dungeness crabs have been known to live for up to 15 years. However, due to their popularity as a seafood item, many Dungeness crabs do not live to their full potential lifespan.
